Oil giant BP have a strategy of enlisting celebs to back their green energy programme. Actors Daryl Hannah, Pierce Brosnan and Danny DeVito are part of the programme, which will provide solar energy systems for 25 low-income families this year.

The stars got involved in the BP Solar Neighbors programme in California, brainchild of actor Edward Norton who bough a BP solar set-up for his off grid home in 2003.
The scheme ensures that each time a celebrity buys a BP home solar panel system, BP donates a system to a low- income family, reducing some of the financial burden of utility bills for low-income families.
Its a great deal for BP, but who can argue with that if it is pushing environmentally sound living?
